From the west: Traveling east on I-40, turn right onto Hwy 64 East at Mocksville exit. Travel southeast on Hwy 64 through Mocksville for 15 miles to the preserve, on the left.

From the southwest: Traveling northeast on I-85, take Exit 87 and get onto combination Business 85-Hwy 29/70-Hwy 52. Drive 6 miles to Hwy 64 West at Lexington. Then drive 8 miles west to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River.

Preserve Description
Located on 305 acres in the heart of the Piedmont region, this preserve of forests, rolling hills and green fields was once part of the Cooleemee cotton and tobacco plantation, which dates back to 1817. The lake on the property offers fishing, boating and a swimming beach. Winston-Salem, one of the South's more illustrious cities, offers a restoration of the original town, plus other attractions (20 miles).
